Man, thanks a lot. I had every single one of those figures. If I could go back in time to my 8-9 yr. old self I would’ve told myself, “Take care of your effin’ toys and put them away when your parents tell you to!”
I had all of them too, but I only have four of them now. My Ovion’s robe is still looking good, but Adama and Starbuck are cape-less.
I only had Starbuck, and in ’83 I painted his uniform black so that the new Luke had a fellow Jedi knight.
We had Imperious. Not being BSG nuts, we just lumped him in with our Star Wars figures, ditched his cloak, and called him Meccano. No idea how we came up with the name.
It appears that Mattel made figures out of every alien creature and robotic character that appeared on the show (including two “Daggit” variations and two Cylons), while neglecting the regular cast. I’m guessing that by the time these appeared, Starbuck had already become the fan favorite, so they made him instead of Apollo.
